Demo site: Muddy Paws Rescue is fictional. It's a website demonstration — no real donations are taken and no real animals are listed.

Muddy Paws Rescue

It started with a box of puppies.

In the winter of 2021, someone left six puppies in a vegetable box outside a Krugersdorp Spar. Retha took them home, meaning to keep them for a weekend. The weekend never really ended.

Five years later, Muddy Paws Rescue is a registered nonprofit with kennels in Rant-en-Dal, 41 foster homes, and one simple rule: the West Rand's strays and surrenders always have somewhere to go.

How we run

Foster-first

Kennels are for emergencies; homes are for living. Most of our animals wait for adoption on somebody's couch, which keeps them socialised and keeps our kennels open for the next crisis.

Sterilisation above all

Every animal we home is sterilised, and our community drives sterilise hundreds more. It's the only thing that actually shrinks the problem instead of bailing water.

Small and honest

No offices, no salaries for directors, one bakkie with a temperamental clutch. Money goes to animals; our books are open to anyone who asks.

The people

Fictional people, for a fictional rescue — a real client would introduce their real team here.

Retha Bezuidenhout

Founder & everything else

Started with one litter in her bathroom in 2021. Now answers the phone at 02:00, negotiates dog food prices like a hostage situation, and knows every animal's name, history and snack preference.

Sipho Dlamini

Kennel manager

Runs the kennels with military precision and infinite softness. The nervous dogs go to Sipho first; he's fluent in scared-dog and speaks it quietly.

Dr Anja Venter

Volunteer vet

Donates her Saturdays and her surgical skills. Responsible for our sterilisation drives and for the rule that no animal is ever turned away for being too broken.

Karabo Mokoena

Fosters & events

Keeps 41 foster families supplied, sane and slightly over-attached. If you've seen our gazebo at a market, Karabo carried it there.

These registration details are examples only — this is a fictional demonstration site. A real rescue would show its NPO number, PBO number and Section 18A status here, so donors can claim their tax deduction. Questions? Ask us.
